Enjoy a seaside walk in Muroran!
Muroran has some of the most beautiful coastline in this area of Hokkaido. Formed from volcanic ash , the sea has eroded it to form amazing geological formations. The coastline also is home to various wildlife such as Hokkadio deer, kites and other birds and animals can be seen throughout the year.
This walking tour takes you along the 100m high cliffs as we climb up to Osawa Peak. Along the way you get views of Itanki beach and the rocky coastline. At the top, superb views of Muroran city, including the massive steel factory, and Hakucho bridge come into view. We will take a break there, have a snack and a drink and admire the views! After we are rested, we head back down the same path and back to the car.

- Duration: 2.5 hours (1 hr walking) – 9:00-11:30 and 14:00-16:30
- Difficulty: Easy
- Max participants: 7 people
- Clothing: Hiking shoes or sneakers are needed as ground can be slippery when wet. Bring a windproof rain jacket, as it is an exposed area. A backpack to put your camera and water in is also advised. On sunny days, a hat, sunglasses and sun cream is also a good idea.
- Food and drinks: Please bring water. A drink and snack will be provided.
- Pick-up: Free pick-up and drop-off is available in Noboribetsu, Noboribetsu Onsen and Muroran.

Tour Schedule
9:00-9:30: Pick-up and drive to Muroran
9:30-10:00: Walk along the cliffs up to the top of Osawa Peak
10:00-10:30: Enjoy a rest with amazing views!
10:30-11:00: Walk back down to the car
11:00-11:30: Drive back and say goodbye!
Know before you go
- This is a physical activity and participants should be able to climb up and down uneven terrain over a distance of 1.5km.
- This tour does require some walking over unstable ground so suitable footwear is advised.
- Please bring a raincoat just in case.
- Tour will be either be canceled or postponed (if possible) if bad weather occurs.
- If there is an injury or the guide deems it unsafe to carry on, the tour will finish.
- Please prepare your own insurance as Nobo Tours does not have insurance for its customers.
