Discover and learn about the industrial city of Muroran and it’s wild coastline!
This area is relatively unknown to most tourists who visit Hokkaido, but this corner of Hokkaido has some of the most unique coastline to offer.
This tour takes you around some of the unique and interesting spots that tourists don’t visit. From rocky cliffs and arches, to mountains and the deep blue sea, you will see a wide variety of nature on this trip.
We will also visit Hakucho bridge, the largest bridge in Eastern Japan and also learn about the beating heart of Muroran, the Nippon Steel factory.

Details
- Duration: 3.5 hours – 9:00-12:30 and 14:00-17:30
- Difficulty: Easy
- Max participants: 4 people
- Clothing: Comfortable footwear as some walking on rocks is involved. A backpack to put your camera and water in is also advised. On sunny days, a hat, sunglasses and sun cream is also a good idea.
- Food and drinks: Please bring water. A drink and snack will be provided.
- Pick-up: Pick-up and drop-off is available in Noboribetsu and Noboribetsu Onsen.
Tour Schedule
9:00-9:30: Pick-up (Pick-up from Noboribetsu and Noboribetsu Onsen)
9:30-10:00: Drive to Muroran
10:00-12:00: Visit the steel factory viewpoint, Cape Chikyu lighthouse, Horaimon gate and Hakucho bridge
12:00-12:30: Drive back to Noboribetsu and say goodbye!
Know before you go
- This tour does require some walking over unstable ground so suitable footwear is advised.
- Please bring a raincoat just in case.
- Tour will be either be canceled or postponed (if possible) if bad weather occurs.
- If there is an injury or the guide deems it unsafe to carry on, the tour will finish.
- Please prepare your own insurance as Nobo Tours does not have insurance for its customers.
