Discover Lake Tachibana!
This magical place is nestled in the mountains near Noboribetsu. The lake is a secret oasis untouched by the tourists of Noboribetsu Onsen. Various birds, animals and even fish can be seen and the forest itself is beautiful. During the summer, the water is warm and vivid blue in colour, making it the perfect spot for a dip. In autumn, the whole area turns to gorgeous shades of red, orange, and yellow!
This walking tour starts in Karursu Onsen and takes just over an hour to reach the lake. On the way, we will walk through beautiful forests until we reach the lake. At the lake we will have a rest and a snack and have a chance to enjoy the nature. This is a great chance to escape the crowds and to enjoy the peacefulness of Noboribetsu’s nature.

- Equipment: Hiking poles available
- Clothing: Layers that can be easily removed or added are advised. Rain jacket and hiking shoes/boots are advised. A backpack to put your camera and water in is a good idea and on sunny days, a hat, sunglasses and sun cream are needed.
- Food and drinks: Please bring water. A hot or cold drink (depending on season) and biscuits are provided.
- Pick-up: Free pick-up and drop-off is available in Noboribetsu and Noboribetsu Onsen.
- Payment: Cash only. Please pay at the beginning of the tour.

11:00-11:45: Walk back to the start point
11:45-12:00: Drive back and say goodbye!

Know before you go
- This is a physical activity and participants should be able to climb up and down uneven terrain over a distance of 4km.
- Please prepare for bad weather even if it is sunny, mountain weather can change quickly.
- Tour will be either be canceled or postponed (if possible) if bad weather occurs.
- If there is an injury or the guide deems it unsafe to carry on, the tour will finish.
- Please prepare your own insurance as Nobo Tours does not have insurance for its customers.
