Mt. Usu Hiking Tour

Tour Overview

Hike up a volcano and visit Lake Toya!

Mt. Usu sits next to Lake Toya and the Pacific Ocean. Having last erupted in 2000, it is one of Japan’s most active volcanoes, with fumaroles visible from it’s crater. This hiking tour takes you up through a beautiful forest until you reach the crater path. From there you get panoramic views of Uchira bay and the magnificent Mt. Yotei, otherwise known as ‘Hokkaido’s Fuji’. On the way back we will stop by Lake Toya to marvel at the wonderful lake and to visit the Geopark centre dedicated to the volcano.
