Noboribetsu Onsen Walking Tour
Tour Overview
Explore Noboribetsu Onsen’s geothermal activity!
Welcome to our Noboribetsu Onsen walking tour! We’ll explore how geothermal energy from the nearby Kuttara Volcano powers this remarkable hot spring town while learning about its rich history and onsen culture.
We’ll begin in Jigokudani—“Hell Valley”—where steam vents and bubbling pools showcase the earth’s raw energy. From there, we’ll follow the scenic trail to Oyunuma Pond, a striking sulfurous lake that constantly steams with natural heat. Our walk then continues on to the relaxing Oyunuma Footbath, where you can soak your feet in warm mineral waters—an ideal way to unwind after discovering the natural and cultural wonders of Noboribetsu. We then walk back to into town and say goodbye!
